How’s your team performing?

The pressures of business upon us all are increasing at a rate that at times can overwhelm or indeed swamp the best of us, however the key to our success and fulfilment lies in what is around us – OUR TEAM!

To believe that we are the only reason for our success or that we can survive and achieve without investing in those around us will eventually leaves us without the genuine support that’s needed to achieve. If you are a leader then you can only lead those who are willing to follow. To drive people or to create a culture of fear diminishes everyone’s potential.

Lone adventurers or solo expeditionists seldom make it to the top (or at least don’t stay), even the Lone Ranger needed Tonto! It’s easy to “throw it out there” but more than ever in a generation filled with bulging egos and self interest, a positive attitude towards others and your team is critically important in maintaining the high level performance we all desire. It would be good to reflect on our own performance and ask a question that might be long overdue: “How am I batting for the team?”

Leadership Behaviours That Destroy Organizations

  1. FAILING TO LISTEN TO THOSE YOU LEAD

  2. FAILING TO EMBRACE AND UTILISE THE TALENTS OF THOSE YOU LEAD

  3. FAILING TO praise THE WORK OF THOSE YOU LEAD

  4. WITHHOLDING INFORMATION FROM THOSE YOU LEAD

  5. CREATING A FEAR CULTURE

  6. HOLDING GRUDGES AGAINST THOSE YOU LEAD

  7. BULLYING THOSE YOU LEAD
